The Artistic Research Committee (ARC) meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month to research musicals and plays for the next season. Once the new season is voted on by the Board of Directors the ARC starts researching for the next season. They start out with a list of shows and at each meeting they add and subtract shows based upon many factors, including cost, feasibility, if any other community theaters are doing the same show, etc.. ARC members are required to read each show so they can make an education decision on the shows. The ARC whittles the list down over the months and finally decides upon 5-6 musicals and 8-10 plays which are then brought to the Board of Directors for consideration for the next season. The cost of the royalties to produce the show, the number of characters, set changes and size of set, and other factors as well as video clips from YouTube of other theater’s productions of the shows up for consideration are presented to the Board of Directors who then make the final decision of what shows to produce for the next season.
If you have a show that you would like McKeesport Little Theater to consider please let a Board Member know so that we can add it to the ARC list of shows.
